1. Who is responsible for your information?
“HAMI”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the operator of the HAMI application and website. HAMI is intended to help individuals organise family documents, record everyday expenses, manage reminders and use supported assistance features.
For privacy questions or requests, contact support@hamiapp.in. For formal notices, the operator’s legal name and postal address must be added here before launch.
2. Information we may handle
Depending on the features you use, HAMI may process the following categories of information:
- Account and profile information: email address, account identifier, sign-in and authentication information, and profile preferences such as currency.
- Expense and budget information: amounts, dates, categories, merchant or description text, notes, recurring commitments, income, budgets and related summaries that you enter or ask HAMI to organise.
- Documents and files: files, scans, photographs and PDFs you choose to upload or share with HAMI; file names, document categories and information extracted from those files, which may include dates, reference numbers, policy details or other content visible in the document.
- Reminders: reminder titles, dates, status and related document or commitment references.
- AI prompts and content: text you submit to AI assistance and relevant context you choose to include. If you use a voice-enabled feature, audio or speech-derived content may also be processed to provide that feature.
- Technical and diagnostic information: information generated by the app and its service infrastructure, such as request details, timestamps, error and performance logs, device/app diagnostics and security events.
Please do not upload information about another person unless you are authorised to do so. Documents may contain sensitive personal information. Only upload material you genuinely need to use with HAMI.
3. How we use information
We use information as needed to:
- create and authenticate your account and provide the HAMI service;
- store, organise, retrieve, display and share documents at your direction;
- record and categorise expenses, budgets, income and recurring commitments, and generate summaries or estimates from information you enter;
- identify document text and metadata, including possible dates or expiry information, to support organisation and reminders;
- respond to prompts and provide supported AI assistance;
- maintain, secure, troubleshoot and improve the service; and
- respond to support requests, enforce our terms and comply with legal obligations.
4. Where and with whom information is processed
HAMI’s current V1 backend is configured on Amazon Web Services in the Mumbai region (ap-south-1). The reviewed architecture uses:
- Amazon Cognito for account authentication;
- Amazon DynamoDB for application records such as profile, expense, budget, reminder and document metadata;
- Amazon S3 for uploaded document objects and related processed files;
- AWS Lambda and API Gateway to operate authenticated application functions; and
- Amazon Bedrock and related AWS document-processing services for supported AI classification, extraction and assistance workflows.
Information may be processed by these service providers on HAMI’s behalf to deliver the features you request. The exact AI model may vary with service configuration. AWS may process data under its own service terms and infrastructure arrangements. We do not claim that every model or processing route is identical for every feature.
HAMI V1 does not connect to your bank account or UPI account, and does not initiate payments. Expense information is entered or shared by you, or extracted from files you choose to submit.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not permit third parties to use your information for their own independent advertising purposes through HAMI. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a genuine business transfer, subject to applicable law.
5. Documents, AI and your choices
When you upload a document, HAMI may store the file and process it to extract text or metadata, classify it, support search, or identify possible expense or reminder details. Some processing may involve AWS document-analysis or AI services. AI-generated results can be incomplete or incorrect. You should review extracted information before relying on it, especially dates, amounts, identity details or policy information.
Do not use HAMI AI as a substitute for professional legal, medical, tax or financial advice. Avoid entering highly sensitive information into an AI prompt unless it is necessary for the feature and you are comfortable submitting it for processing.
You control what you choose to upload or enter. You can stop using a feature and contact us if you want help with your information or account.
6. Storage, security and retention
HAMI uses access controls and cloud security features intended to restrict access to account and document information. The reviewed design uses authenticated API access, user-scoped data paths and private document storage. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot promise absolute security.
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain your account, meet operational requirements, resolve disputes and comply with applicable law. The precise retention periods for application records, uploaded files, logs and backups are not stated in this draft because they must be confirmed against HAMI’s live retention and backup configuration. Where information is no longer required, we will take steps to delete or de-identify it, subject to lawful retention requirements and technical backup cycles.
7. Your choices and privacy requests
You may contact us to request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information associated with your account, or to raise a privacy concern. We may need to verify your identity before acting. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.
To make a request, email support@hamiapp.in from your registered email address and describe the request. If you request account closure or deletion, we will explain any information that must be retained by law or for legitimate security, dispute-resolution or operational purposes.
The reviewed API routes did not establish a complete self-service account-deletion workflow. Please contact support for assistance. HAMI must also provide any account-deletion mechanism required by the app distribution platform before public release.
8. Children
HAMI is designed for adults managing their own information. It is not intended to be used independently by children. If you upload a family member’s document, you are responsible for ensuring you have the authority or appropriate permission to do so. If you believe a child’s personal information has been submitted without appropriate authority, contact us.
9. International processing
Our reviewed V1 infrastructure is located in AWS’s Mumbai region. Some service providers may operate global infrastructure or process information in other locations as part of providing their services. Where applicable, we will use appropriate safeguards and comply with legal requirements governing cross-border processing.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when HAMI’s features, service providers or legal requirements change. We will update the “Last updated” date and provide additional notice where required. Continued use after an update will be subject to the revised policy to the extent permitted by law.
